Lichfield's Tough Policy Described in Court Martial Testimony
Lt. Granville Cubrage testified that a general get tough policy in American detention camps in England led to beatings of G I prisoners. Dubage and Kilian described August 1944 policy at Lichfield and other camps with officers ordering “worked over” punishments while avoiding excessive bone-breaking. The panel disqualified Col. Moore as president amid concerns over justice and court composition.
