Opening week shows good spring fishing across Iowa
The fishing season begins with warm expectations as walleye and sauger bite on the Cedar River and Mississippi. Anglers report bass at Lake Macbride and crappies at gravel pits while trout stocking continues at northeast Iowa hatcheries. Officials note river clarity and water temperatures will drive early action.
