Fire destroys trailer home near Marion amid flood threat
A trailer house owned by the Bob Hamilton family four miles southeast of Marion burned on Monday afternoon. Neighbors reported the fire to firefighters who faced wind- driven flames. The family was not home, and the blaze destroyed their possessions while investigators worked Tuesday to determine the cause. Separately, floodwaters swept through Thomas Park along Indian Creek, threatening nearby houses though no damage was reported. The pool filter room sustained mud, and the danger eased later Monday afternoon.
