Linn County Supervisors Trim Budget By One Million
Linn County supervisors cut about 1 million dollars from next year’s tax askings reducing the levy to 5.847 per 1000 and lowering the Cedar Rapids School District homeowner tax on a 50 000 property from 221.80 to 211.92 while keeping overall taxes higher than this year. Insurers payouts allowed a 360 000 cut from the health fund and a cash reserve tweak to 5 458 460, though the initial proposed budget had been 26 258 120 in taxes. The action lowers the tax bite while preserving a higher levy than the current year.
