A 37 year old man at the Oklahoma City zoo leaped into a Bengal tiger pit while shouting I am king of the world and was severely injured by a male tiger. Zoo officials described the incident and noted attempts to deter the animal with hoses and a fire extinguisher before the tiger returned to its cage. The victim was conscious and sent to an intensive care unit for treatment.
