Catholic School and Parish Building Planned in Cedar Rapids
St Patrick's church to launch April 30 campaign aiming to raise over 1 million dollars for a new boys high school run by the Christian Brothers and a parish building for St Jude's in west Cedar Rapids at Fourth Avenue and Edgewood Road. The effort, led by Rev J Robert McDonald, involves about 1700 families and 500 volunteers with professional oversight by Lawson Associates. The high school, opening fall 1962, will seat 450 with 16 classrooms and full facilities, occupying a 3-acre site adjacent to St Jude's. New parish and school facilities will include 300-car parking and a 60 by 90 foot all-purpose hall.
