Cedar Rapids executive William Nezerka dies by suicide
William J. Nezerka 46, vice president and sales head of the Turner Company, shot himself in a Cedar Rapids garage after a divorce and remarriage, leaving a note. He returned from a business trip to Washington and is survived by his father Joseph Nezerka and sister Esther MacGregor. Services are set at Turner chapel with burial in Oak Hill cemetery. He belonged to Mt Hermon lodge 263 A F & A M and other groups.

Arthur Poe Civic Leader Dies at 72
Arthur Poe 72 retired manager of the Quaker Oats plant died Sunday at his home. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at St. John's church with a memorial at Coe College Thursday. Poe, noted for energy in business civic church and athletics, played football at Princeton and earned All American honors in 1899. He later served as a Coe College trustee and board president. He had strong ties to Coe College and its ROTC unit, with services at St. Paul’s Methodist and a half staff flag at Coe.
