World Map by Oyvind Fahlstrom at Sidney Janis Gallery
The NYT review praises Oyvind Fahlstrom’s World Map as a dense, cartoon like critique of global corruption and oppression. It notes the piece uses hundreds of notations and panels to form a sprawling map where violence exploitation and greed are repeatedly depicted. The work blends pop art humor with sharp social critique and remains visually engaging though text dense.
