The HEW report shows total college enrollments at 9.204 million for fall 1972, a 2 percent rise from 1971. Four year institutions grew under 1 percent, two year schools rose about six percent, with many gains in two year colleges and broader distribution across more institutions.
New York AP report notes a glossy magazine named IAP Review for authors over 60. Voluntary staff include a retired New York Daily News fashion editor, two ex television reporters, and a former literature teacher. The project comes from the Institute for Retired Professionals at the New School for Social Research. Editor Mary Gerard stresses that senior voices matter alongside younger writers.
