Southern Style charms fill Paramount with Harmony Hawks
Cedar Rapids Harmony Hawks under Len Biella delivered a lively Southern Style program at the Paramount Theater. George Baldwin at the organ and Jerry Carr offered witty notes as guests, with strong moments from the Parlor City Dixieland Band and the Happiness Emporium from the Twin Cities. The show featured dynamic bass and brass, a Minstrel Montage of Stephen Foster tunes, and a finale with audience sing along, despite some musical slips.
