UI Expels Student for Sexual Misconduct first in History
The University of Iowa expelled a male student for a pattern of predatory behavior involving forcible fondling and forcible sodomy. Both incidents occurred off campus in December and on campus in January, with two separate victims and no criminal charges filed. The move follows campus pressure for stronger action against sexual violence and a plan by UI President Mason to improve prevention and victim support.
