Transamerica expansion eyed in Cedar Rapids with tax break
Transamerica plans a two year renovation of its Cedar Rapids campus to boost agility and collaboration. The project includes a 4.7 million dollar ten year tax exemption while the company would pay about 23.5 million in property taxes. The move consolidates employees at 6400 and 6300 C St SW as Tata Consultancy Services absorbs about 860 former Transamerica staff. City officials call it a potential growth engine for southwest Cedar Rapids.
