The 185th Air Refueling Wing will receive its ninth KC-135 and likely operate abroad for an Air Force rotation this fall. Col. Dennis Menefee said crews are flying more sorties as the unit shifts from local to global missions, refueling planes during training and joining a broader rotation tied to the Iraqi conflict. The KC-135s, stationed at Sioux Gateway Airport, may be based overseas, with one tanker already en route to Topeka for pickup.
