Police in Keokuk Iowa held a mother and daughter from Kahoka Missouri on shoplifting charges. Officers recovered merchandise including curtains shoes ladies suits underwear anklets an electric toaster dress ornaments and groceries. The chief quoted the mother claiming many items had been in the city’s main stock.
Jacob Eige, 61, longtime vice-president of the Fisher Governor company in Marshalltown, died Wednesday. He served 26 years before retiring in 1943 and was a former state president of the National Association of Power Engineers.
