Hampshire fieldman weighs hogs at Lisbon test station

Fieldman Steve Juhl of Peoria supervises weigh in of 95 pound Hampshire pigs at the Farmland Swine Test Station in Lisbon for the National Hampshire Registry eighth central test station performance test. Pigs will compete for rate of gain backfat and reach 275 pounds. The sale is set for 8 p.m. Tuesday Aug 18. Juhl defends animal welfare while noting some producers may have poor practices.
