Marion surtax proposal faces Marion school voters
Marion Superintendent Bob Hale explains a 5.39 percent local option tax tied to a state aid cut will fund education without covering all shortfalls. The district lost state aid, will borrow funds to operate, and expects seven of 17 layoffed teachers could be rehired if approved.
