Jesus Week Highlighted by Rev Wells at Lions Club
Rev Elton D Wells, district superintendent, told Lions Club members at the Roosevelt hotel that Holy Week is the most significant in Christian faith as Jesus spoke most of his teachings in the last week of life. He recalled Tuesday teaching, Wednesday silence, and Thursday’s Judas betrayal, with Friday marking the betrayal. He warned of world danger, noting Napoleon’s rise and Hitler, and urged four Christian lessons for Holy Week 1941: divine power leads to ruin, gods grind slowly and finely, bees fertilize from stolen honey, and when darkest, stars appear.
