Cardboard oil pan aims to pan for profits in auto care
Cedar Rapids pair John Henecke and Shawn Gallagher of J&S Products created Speed-E-Pan a recyclable cardboard oil drain pan that folds into a box holding eight quarts of used oil. The idea grew from a kitchen brainstorm and gained traction after pitching at the 2008 Specialty Equipment Market Association show before securing a patent last year and selling about 1,000 units.
