Funeral services 10:30 a.m. March 10 at St Stephen s Lutheran Atkins with burial at St Stephen s Lutheran Cemetery Atkins graveside rites by Adolph H Schueler American Legion Post 217. Visitation 4 7 p m today at church. He served in the U S Navy 1944 46 and was postmaster of Atkins from 1948 to 1978. He was a longtime church and community leader survived by Hazel his wife children grandchildren and siblings. Condolences at Phillips Funeral Home Vinton.

In Manchester Iowa a mop head clogged a sewer main near the wastewater plant allowing raw sewage to flow into a stream that feeds the Maquoketa River.
