The Marion Library Board and city officials will form a five member committee to decide if the Marion Carnegie Library should move to Mentzer Elementary School, which closes at year end, or another location. Details on page 1B.
Blanche Glee, 81, of 505 36th St. NE, Cedar Rapids, was upgraded from critical to fair at St. Luke's Hospital after being assaulted and robbed on March 22 at her apartment house office. Police have charged Dwight Murray, 30, a Texas parolee, with first degree robbery and second degree burglary. he remains jailed in Linn County on 240000 bond awaiting trial.
Cedar Rapids property values rose across the board with a 14 percent aggregate increase from the latest residential equalization. Low and middle priced homes saw the largest gains, up to 15.84 percent, while high priced homes rose 5.29 percent. Appeals are due May 6 with filing at City Hall, fifth floor.

The panel recommends saturated fat under 10 percent of calories and total fat below 30 percent, with cholesterol capped at 300 mg daily. About 25 percent of children may need cholesterol testing, with half needing follow up diets.
