Decorah Truancy Case Involves State Ed Rules
The DPI board may alter the panel’s ruling though it usually accepts it. Decorah argues the Sessions violate state truancy laws by not sending two children to a certified school. The panel found education could be equivalent but still unlawful. A prior non jury trial paused as parties agreed DPI would decide the issues.
