Bates Sentenced For Mail Fraud In Federal Court

Gilbert M. Bates of Cedar Rapids pleaded guilty to four of six counts of mail fraud and securities law violations. He received a $4000 fine and an 18 month suspended prison term from Judge Henry N. Graven with three years probation. Prosecutors said about $13,000 was involved in Bates' transactions.

School Board Approves New Entrance Plan
