Coralville Mayor Lundell to retire from UI post in year’s end
Coralville Mayor John Lundell will retire from his deputy director role at the University of Iowa Injury Prevention Research Center by year end after 23 years in the field. He notes the mayor’s duties vastly exceed council work, prompting his phased retirement to focus on family and city leadership. Former mayor Jim Fausett lauds Lundell’s dedication and time commitment. Lundell plans to run for reelection in November but has not declared candidacy.
