Audit: Iowa urged to repay 2.7 million in child care aid

An audit by the U S Department of Health and Human Services calls Iowa to refund 2.7 million in Child Care and Development Block Grant funds after a contractor dissolution left leftover money. Iowa lawmakers confident they'll reach budget deal

Penford bids 1.67 million for Riverside Park

Penford Products Co offers 1.669 million to Cedar Rapids for Riverside Park covering appraised park and right of way costs. The plan would repay city grants and fund relocation of skate park, baseball diamond and playground while preserving park operation until a definitive project. The council may direct negotiations with May vote on terms and June on a development agreement.
