Kapa Ann home on Dubuque riverboat after remodel
Arnie and Sandy McDowell live aboard the Kapa Ann in Dubuque with their sons Jeremy and Stephen. They converted the former Cedar Rapids riverboat into a three bedroom house, plan a second deck, smoke stacks, and a paddlewheel to resemble a riverboat while keeping the name. The boat was launched in 1952 and changed hands several times before ending up in Clinton and then Dubuque in 1979.
