Karl Werner, 37, of 1560 Fifth Ave SE, arrested after attempting to cart away $532 worth of meat from Econofoods at 1800 51st St NE. Police say a store employee saw him packing meat and confronted him outside the Cedar Rapids store around 11:45 a.m., and he remains in Linn County Jail.
