Extended forecast calls for partly cloudy conditions from Wednesday to Friday with highs in the 40s to low 50s and lows in the 30s to low 40s. Winds at 2 pm from the east at 19 mph. Reported floods show various river stages and pool levels. Obituaries and funeral notices list numerous names with service times and burial details across multiple towns including Marion, Cedar Rapids, Davenport, and Keokuk with dates in April and May.
Linn deputies arrested two men for drunk driving early Sunday. Virgil Neuenkirk, 52, route one, Mechanicsville, was arrested on highway 30 three miles east of Lisbon. Dennis T. Fear, 29, of 401 Sixteenth street NE, was arrested at Central City.
Two groups of young men were arrested for possession of a controlled substance after police stopped cars for improper lighting. At 1:52 a.m. Monday four occupants in the 200 block of First Avenue East were charged as marijuana odor and devices were seized. Bonds set at 2500 dollars each for Steven Strait 19 Marion. Steven Foster 21 Wilson Ave SW. Bryce Page Jr. 24 and William Schindler 19 Wilson Ave SW. Earlier, 11 p.m. Saturday two men in the 300 block of First Avenue SE were stopped for a lighting violation and charged after officers detected marijuana odor. Quantity of marijuana and smoking devices were seized from the car. Andrew Hamilton 20 Ellis Boulevard NW and Terry L. Wilson 22 Magnus Hotel were held.
Richard Turner, 43, of 342 Rockford Road SW, was charged with assault and battery after allegedly striking a police officer who arrived when an ambulance was called during a family argument at 4 30 p m Saturday. Turner reportedly fell ill but received no treatment.
Obituaries note Mary Lorraine Hubbard 47 of 4747 Danbury Street NE wife of Albert I Hubbard died after a long illness. Also listed are infant son of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Newcomb, Jesse Pigman 58, and other local residents with service details, survivors, and burial at Cedar Memorial. Services set at Chapel of Memories, Turner's funeral homes, and graveside rites with date and time.
Memorial services for Alice Lenore Kruber and John Turner will be held at Turner chapel east with graveside rites by the American Legion at Cedar Memorial. Mrs. Mary E. Abraham, 80, Cedar Rapids born Lebanon, died after a short illness in Aurora Colorado. Her services are in Kuba funeral home and St John’s Orthodox church with a Trisagian service Monday night. Memorials may be given to St John’s Eastern Orthodox church. Friends may call Kuba’s east and Turner’s east locations as noted.

Private investigator DeMuth testified about a conversation with Wedelstedt a day before the fire regarding two men potentially running the business.
In Cedar Rapids federal court two former Eldora businessmen Gordon Reisinger and Roger Jensen testified as the trial entered its second week. They deny defrauding First National Bank of Eldora during 1972–73 by using Mid-States Livestock funds to cover commodity losses and illegal loans.
