University of Iowa physicists Jamies Van Allen Donald Gurnett and B A Frank are among 18 U S and six foreign scientists chosen for the definition phase of missions to Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune and Pluto. Two follow on probes Pioneer F and G will carry instruments to image Jupiter and study radiation belts as part of the effort funded in Nixon era 1972 budget plans.

Strawberry Point Historical Society Plans May Meeting
The Straw berry Point Historical Society board met at Gut Wilder Memorial to plan its annual meeting and summer schedule. Three directors will be elected for three-year terms to replace Feuchel Hoth and Lenz. Membership fees due May 1 for non life members. The museum opens Saturdays and Sundays 1 to 4 pm starting April, then daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day until 5 pm. Appointments with curator Mrs. George Pattison for group visits.
