W O Campbell a Cedar Rapids pioneer auto dealer died in a Delano California hospital on March 20 after months of illness. Funeral services were in Long Beach with burial at Sunnyside mausoleum near Hollywood California. Born August 24 1868 in Nauvoo Alabama he later moved with his family to Iowa. He worked for Standard Oil in Chicago then opened Campbell Motor Company in Cedar Rapids and later became Studebaker distributor for eastern Iowa. He retired to California where he helped build Hollydale and ran three Gallep stores before ranching near McFarland.
