Tower of David residents turn derelict tower into home
In Caracas a 27 story block known as the Tower of David houses residents who hauled bricks and water tanks up 27 flights to live there after fleeing violence in Petare. They recount crime and neglect yet praise Chavez era values and a new leadership easing crime while top floors grow cooler and livelier with balconies. The building features shops and services and locals share stories of survival and community.
