DHS consolidates child abuse intake and services across Iowa
The Iowa Department of Human Services will consolidate eight intake units into a Des Moines based statewide child abuse unit employing 34 staff to serve eight cities. The move aims for uniform abuse case evaluation though layoffs are not expected. The reorganization also creates regional to state unit merges for Medicaid, subsidized child care and county office part timers.
