Linn County reserves raise bar for law enforcement
Linn County Iowa reserve officers are trained volunteers who assist full-time deputies. Led by Lt Karl Kohl and Sgt Gene West, the program requires a 100 hour boot camp and eight hours monthly service with pay of one dollar per year. The reserves handle fingerprinting at schools and mall safety demos while many members pursue full-time LE careers.
