Herman Denis Paulsen 95 of West Branch died April 8 2018 at Crestview Specialty Care Center. Visitation Friday noon to 2 30 p.m. Henderson Barker Funeral Home West Branch with funeral and military honors to follow. Burial in West Branch Cemetery. Memorial fund established. He served as Torpedoman First Class in World War I, farmed in Springdale area, member of Springdale United Methodist Church and West Branch American Legion Post 514. Survived by daughter Linda Wolf son Larry Paulsen and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bo Stodola dies at 73 in Newhall after illness
Gary Edward Stodola 73 died April 1 2018 at St Luke's Inpatient Hospice after a sudden illness. A public funeral service was not planned. Memorials may go to St John Lutheran Church Newhall Iowa. He served in the US Air Force and married Geraldine Fehlberg in 1969. He worked in Cedar Rapids and is survived by his sons Brian and Kurt and their families, along with a sister.
