City council approves numerous public works and zoning changes
The Cedar Rapids city council met in regular session with Mayor Donald Canney. They granted cigarette permits, approved water main extensions and bonds, and set hearings for April 25. They authorized attendance at a water works convention, amended loan applications for Civic Center and Cedar Lake projects, and designated depositories. Nineteen ordinances were introduced or passed related to zoning changes, code updates, annexation, and developer agreements. They also approved licenses and permits for local businesses and events, and received March reports from departments.
