Church must lead, says former King aide at Cornell and Coe
Rev. Albert R. Sampson of Fernwood United Methodist Church, Chicago, told students at Cornell and Coe colleges that the church should be a societal headlight. He noted King’s work moved the church into the community and urged white leaders to confront humanity beyond violence. He criticized current politics and urban policy as failing blacks and warned of no improvement until the nation embraces human responsibility.
