Iowa House OKs three year terms for incorrigible offenders
Des Moines AP The Iowa House approved mandatory three year prison terms for incorrigible offenders 66-21 with judges allowed to impose more than the minimum. The panel rejected 47-41 a 15 year minimum for dangerous offenders. The 427 page criminal code revision defines incorrigible offenders as three time felons for third conviction and sets maximum to 15 years. Rep. Jack Woods proposed three year minimum and up to six years by the judge.

Linn deputies and state troopers arrested two men on drunk driving charges Thursday evening. E Franke 21 Vin ton was stopped on Highway 94 south of Palo for allegedly driving 83 mph and faced marijuana possession charges.
