Victor Stehlik Dies By Own Action On Leave
Staff Sgt. Victor H. Stehlik 20 of route 2 died from a self inflicted gunshot while on special leave from the air force to help his father on the farm. His body was found about 6 10 am Thursday in a pickup truck on gravel highway 381 south of Cedar Rapids by a cab driver. A 22 caliber revolver was found on the truck seat. A note to his parents offered no reason. He had been reported missing at 2 45 am Thursday after leaving home Wednesday evening. Funeral arrangements pending.
