UI President Merges Alumni Group with Foundation Shocks Board
University of Iowa President Bruce Harreld plans to merge the UI Alumni Association with the UI Foundation creating one unified organization. Alumni leaders say the decision was announced without board vote and they fear loss of independence and dues changes. The plan follows a March report proposing closer alignment and a new communications strategy without specifying a merger.
