A Cedar Rapids woman rescued from an early morning condo fire at 1218 Oakland Rd NE died at UnityPoint Health St Luke's Hospital. Fire crews reported heavy fire and smoke in the unit of origin as investigators determine the cause.
Marion police reported 63 year old Richard Thompson died after injuries found near Sixth Avenue and Eighth Street Sunday morning. An autopsy is complete but findings are inconclusive and further toxology and brain tests could take weeks or months to finish. Thompson had been at the VIP Lounge on March 26 and police seek information via (319) 377-1511 or CrimeStoppers at 1 800 CR CRIME.
