Expression Recital Planned at Casper Methodist Church
Miss Mary Brubaker will present an expression recital next Wednesday at the Casper Methodist church, assisted by her sister Miss Edith Brubaker. Edith has appeared at the same church last April and is known to Casper residents. Mary, a Columbia College of Expression graduate, has performed in eastern cities the past two years and spent this summer on her brothers ranch near Glenrock. Several musical numbers are planned and a large audience is hoped for in Wyoming towns.

Dancing party for Miss Maurine Cantillion’s friends in Cheyenne
Miss Maurine Cantillion entertained many young friends at a Wednesday evening dancing party with a lawn pavilion for the event. A Cheyenne firm Truckey & Son bought bankrupt stock of Jake the Tailor, packed the remaining goods, and shipped them to Cheyenne to join their stock. Mr John Brooks learned of his mother’s death in Fort Wayne and left for the funeral, joined by Governor Brooks. Colorado capitalists arrived from Colorado Springs to North Salt Creek area for oil fields and railroad building plans, with Wm. Fitzhugh accompanying them. Mrs Walter Austin’s visit from Chicago overlapped with arrangements to meet Haslett in Casper. A letter from Washington dated Dec 12 1908 praises Miss Edith Chariton for extension work in domestic economy at Iowa Star College and Virginia Summer School for Teachers.

Natrona County Pioneers back monument plan
A Natrona County Pioneers association committee met at Mr. and Mrs W. S. Kimball to confirm enough funds to buy a monument obelisk. Steps to ship from the quarry will begin and the city now handles site work with Northwestern Railway offering a near the passenger rail line. The shaft is hoped to stand by the first of November.
