Casper Fourth of July plans include wild west show

Casper's celebration plans feature the Farlow Bros Wild Wear exhibition from Lander with 50 Indians, cowboys and cowgirls, a stage holdup, war dances, bucking broncos, and Indian scenes. Oil field prospects near Casper and Golden Wedding

Dan Van Wagenen leaves Casper for California to finalize drilling rig plans on Salt Creek holdings and anticipates a complete rig by June. Al McCormick of Oil City also plans drilling in the same area. Mr and Mrs Demorest celebrate their golden wedding with open house for hundreds, while a Casper union church meeting, with a strong program, is planned for Sunday hosted by the Casper Civic Club.

Burlington May Buy Johnson Lake

The 700 acre Johnson Lake could be used for irrigation this summer as Burlington railroad officials study purchasing the lake and irrigation rights. Surveyors map lines to Bucknum for a watering station while talks continue on the sale and the broader 12 000 acre tract below the lake. If Burlington does not buy in, Johnson and partners plan ditch and reservoir construction to irrigate and settle hundreds near Casper, boosting regional trade and ranch supply networks.

Building a Park Clears Way for Depot Access

A train load of dirt from Fremont County, hauled by the North Western company, is being used for Monument park grade work. Superintendent Boone says a gravel driveway will provide depot access. The park will be lawned with grass and a few shrubs may be planted this year.

Death of Cecil Nicolaysen in California

Cecil Nicolaysen elder son of Mr and Mrs Nicolaysen of Casper died in Anaheim California on a Saturday evening from heart trouble He was born in Casper August 19 19 and was over sixteen years old He had heart weakness in recent years attended Shattuck military school at Faribault Minnesota last year returned home due to illness He later went with his mother to California for treatment The body arrived in Casper Wednesday funeral services were held at the Episcopal church under Rev J Charles Villiers Pallbearers included Wilson Kimball Byron Dunn Arthur Norton Leo Dunn Otto Rhodes and Leigh Townsend Mr and Mrs Nicolaysen mourn the loss with many friends.

Wyoming Crude Co. strikes big gusher in Salt Creek field

The Wyoming Crude Oil Company struck oil at a depth of about Low feet on Section 24 near Salt Creek. Early tests show the well comparable to the first strike, with plans to drill more wells and possibly construct a pipeline. Directors named at the April meeting include C. Tarrent and W. S. Mets of Sheridan. The Midwest Company advances a six inch pipeline from north to south camp, half finished, with completion expected in two weeks. Local happenings cover marriages, business moves, and community improvements in Salt Creek and the Midwest camp.

Burglary at residence nets jewelry and money

Robbery occurred Sunday while family away at church. Jewelry, diamonds, watches, and silver were stolen from multiple rooms including George Campbell and the Congrove and Jones households.
