A unique prairie animal has inhabited the back of the Lowndes residence at Third and Maple for about a year. The creature eats from hands and even enters the kitchen seeking food, biting Olive and Joe Lowndes when they tried to caress it.
Hogs can be profitably raised in Wyoming where alfalfa grows with irrigation. Governor Carey and ex governor Brooks are cited for hog ventures. longtime Casper resident James McDonald known as Irish Jimmy died at the age of advanced years. Funeral services were held at St Anthony's Catholic Church with many friends present and interment in the local cemetery. He moved to Casper about seventeen years ago from a former frontier town and ran the Poodle Dog restaurant for years before retiring. He leaves two daughters and several relatives. one daughter preceded him in death.

About four hundred feet of the Burlington grade near Boysen was washed out late last week but repairs were completed allowing trains to pass. The incident disrupted service briefly as workers restored the section for resumed travel.
Dr. Charles O. Merica, president of the University of Wyoming, has tendered his resignation to head the State Training School for boys at Red Wing Minnesota. During his four years in Wyoming he raised the university to a high standard and the state loses a powerful supporter of education.
Rev BR Hopton, pastor of a Casper Baptist church, was summoned to Leon Iowa by telegram from Mrs Hopton after her mother died suddenly there. He had recently been summoned due to the illness and death of her father. The elderly mother soon followed, leaving the Hopton family in sympathy.
Lander Valley faces hay scarcity as ranchers spent supplies to fetch high prices. Dealers report shipments of 100 to 150 carloads in two months, with some tonnage reaching eastern markets and New York. Prices peaked at 27 a ton with 60 a ton offers rejected. Meanwhile Oi Wel Supply adds a Schacht delivery car to Casper operations, currently in B and J garage for repair.
Fire alarm sounded at the Methodist church Wednesday evening as a fire prompted an orderly evacuation during a revival. The crowd, led by volunteers and a brave sermon by Rev. Kingsley, exited calmly with only mild excitement and no injuries reported.

On Wednesday afternoon Fred Burlew of Casper married Mini Stella Jones of Thermopolis. The Rev J W Kingsley officiated. The couple will reside in Casper after the ceremony.
A jeweler named Morrison left ITuileon last week with watches and repaired jewelry. He encountered a man who struggled with reading and forged a check for 25 to A. Sheepherder, signed Yours Troy, which the victim paid.
A B Daniels a longtime Douglas resident and freighter died after shooting himself Sunday night. Suffering weeks of insomnia and head pains, he died at four Monday morning after being taken to hospital. Daniels left a large ranch, was treasurer of the Douglas Masonic lodge, and is survived by his wife son Arthur daughter Miss Eather and his brother H R Daniels. Funeral services were held Wednesday under Masonic lodge auspices.
A group of former Casper barbers now working in Denver gave an interview to a Times reporter about their Casper experiences. They claim they were canned from Casper shops and depict themselves as skilled workers who mixed stone mason duties with barber tasks. The piece lists Jim Cottrell, Opear Shumaker, Mink Hawley, Clyele Grey, George Bowers, and John Tower among those who worked in Casper.
