Opening Up New Oil Territory Near Casper

The Monongahela Wyoming company organized by W L Preston of Casper has received two drilling rigs from Charleston West Virginia and will start operations soon. Leases cover several thousand acres in the Casper area with promising land and potential deposits. R C HeleP of Monongahela assumes field supervision. John Culbert of Charleston will drill using a National No 2 rig capable of 2500 feet.

Brakeman Johnson Killed by Accident in Lander Yards

In the Lander yards Harry B. Johnson a brakeman was killed while making up a freight train when a coupling moved and struck him. Engineer Spicer and Conductor Werts reported the accident and Johnson’s body was sent to Westerville for burial. He was 46, survived by a wife and child, and a member of the Woodmen of the World with a $200 life policy.

Fourth of July celebration offers sleeping quarters

The general committee for the Fourth of July celebration says they will provide shelter for attendees. They will arrange sleeping space for participants using SW Cats with wedding to ensure everyone has a place to sleep during the event.

Jealous rancher shoots man at Natrona County home
