Postmaster Returns From Washington On Savings Bank Plans
Postmaster E T Metz of Laramie reports from Washington on a conference about new government savings books to be opened next Tuesday. Only one additional clerk is needed for the new department. a deposit card will be issued with test deposits and added stamps, followed by exchange for a certificate. Certificates will be issued in 1 2 5 0 and 20 denominations with 2 percent annual interest on deposits left in the savings bank, and withdrawals to be on demand under prescribed rules.
