Wolf Attack Trail Leads to Harsh Winter Wolves
In the Sweetwater valley of the Little Kansas country two cowpunchers from the T W outfit, Blake Hors and Hank Evans, followed fresh wolf trails to the Little Haystack mountains. Horn dismounted, left Evans with the horses, and encountered a band of wolves in a canyon. Evans heard shots, found Horn fighting wolves with a wounded arm and torn clothing, after Horn had killed eleven wolves earlier that winter.

Northwestern Railway advances side track at Wahaba likely westward move
Wahaia reports from Wahaba that Northwestern Railway crews are building a large side track at the town. Officials claim gravel beds at the site, but locals doubt the claim given nearby coal and gravel proximity. The strike hints at a land rush with 30,000 acres of coal land west of Wahaba and a townsite securing. Woolgrowers may imprint own names on woollaces at Cadoma pens without extra cost via Jas J Mutern.
