Wyoming Praises Short Grass Country War Horse

Wyoming representative Mondell urged Congress to place the army horse source in the short grass region of the Inter-mountain west arguing Wyoming horses are superior for real service. He cited war department experience and British purchases, noting high altitude dry climate and compact hoof foster lung power courage and endurance in western-bred horses. The speech stressed open-country development and Wyoming as the ideal origin for military mounts.

Mild Weather Sparks Remarkable Local Oddities

Last month’s unusually gentle temperatures brought unusual happenings. On Tuesday brank Starks brought a bullsnake over four feet long found on the road to Casper. Mollie Wolfe found a snake with Hoffed Steakin ready to enjoy summer. Sap rose about a foot in trees and stock shed. Wednesday proved the brightest, wariest day with gentler winds and milder air.

Little Girl Rosie Goggin Passes Away

Rosie Goggin aged two and a half, granddaughter of Mr and Mrs John Schnoor, died after eight days of inflammatory rheumatism that reached the heart. She was a popular child, mourned by neighbors and friends. The mother, in Denver, will return for the funeral tomorrow at 1 o'clock, with Pat Herj Bryant in charge. Sympathy is extended to the mother and grandparents.

Fleet to sail under foreign flag to meet wartime needs
