Bumper Apple Crop At Julian Orchard In Wyoming
The Julian orchard near Bessemer Head southwest of Casper shows an extraordinary apple crop. Five acres in bearing trees yield an estimated 1500 bushels this year, with some trees giving eight to ten bushels each. A market exists at 2.50 per bushel, plus small fruit sales. The farm also streams sixty acres alfalfa and other grains. A State Fair display will feature the apples.

Fire at Franco Refinery causes heavy damage
A fire at the Franco Wr Owing refinery on Monday morning damaged the plant and threatened large sections of the facility. A leaking pipe sent flammable liquid across the ground igniting it, and with no local fire alarm, staff sent a man to town to raise the alarm. By the time firefighters reached the scene, the blaze had gained headway, but chemcals neutralized the fire and stopped it from spreading. Estimated damage runs about £1000.

Jailed for Embezzlement Charged Great Western solicitor
J Heaton,a solicitor for Great Western Life and Accident Association, was brought to Casper by Deputy Shen Tripeny and bound over to district court on two charges of appropriating funds. Heaton allegedly collected insurance premiums and did not remit them. Prosecutors FL Rich and Shipp led the case in W Wilson’s absence. Bond set at 200 dollars. Heaton could not post it and remained jailed. He is sought in Lander and Rawlins on similar charges.

Glenrock OL strike yields light oil near Vernon holdings
In Glenrock area, a well drilled on land leased from Vernon Oil Co seven miles south of Glenrock struck a good flow of light lubricant oil at a depth of about WG feet. The well rose to within three feet of the surface, marking the first oil well in the Glenrock district and suggesting potential for a major oil field akin to Shannon. Similar oil of the same grade appeared in walls drilled twelve miles east in the Krenning basin years ago.
