Oil Found Near Casper Sparks Local Excitement

Tra W. Naylor reported a thick oil slick on a spring near his ranch south of Casper. Oil experts believed the sample was high grade, confirming oil exists near town. Western Explorers had drilled wells six miles north and west with an encouraging strike, while plans to lease land for development loom as prospecting continues.

Arm Injury At Salt Creek Pump Fracture Report

L Peterson, an employee at the Midwest company home camp in Salt Creek oil fields, had his right arm caught in pump machinery, causing a below elbow fracture. He was taken to Casper hospital Monday for treatment and care.

Wyoming Metals Output in 111 Values Gold Copper and Silver

The United States Geological Survey cites Wyoming production of gold silver and copper in 111 at 4407 dollars per hectare with a gain of 2175 over 100. Gold output rose to 19200 with an 16001 increase from 1010. Copper production reached 118584 pounds valued at 14825 dollars, down from 1010 due to idleness at the Penn Wyoming mine and smelter in Carbon County. Silver declined from 1478 ounces worth 704 in 1010 to 775 ounces worth 186 in 1011 with ore mined and treated increasing overall.

Trip to Yellowstone With Family and Party Set

Accused of Eloping in Wyoming Case

Solth and Mrs. Frank Ferrill of Casper were arrested Saturday by Deputy Sheriff Hazen after eloping with their young daughter. They were found in Mrs Ferrill’s room at a local hotel and taken to Shoshoni for transfer to Casper. Authorities plan to place the child in a home and send the woman to relatives as the case unfolds.
