Adjudged Insane Dennis Donovan Held for Asylum

Dennis Donovan aged twenty three faced a jury in Natrona county after witnesses including his brother and doctors testified he suffers hereditary mental derangement. He immigrated from Ireland two years ago and has been sheep herding. doctors found non violent but incurable illness. The jury sent him to the Evanston asylum.

Tanker Tank Builders Strike for Higher Wages

Tank builders at Hammond Iron works and workers at Pennsylvania Iron Works Co struck on Thursday seeking raises from 83.00 83.75 to 4.00 4% per day with sixty days notice. After four days away the men won the raise and returned to work for Midwest Oil Co and France Petroleum refinery contracts.

Ohio Oil Company moves to drill new field

The Ohio Oil Company prepares another car load of material for the field. Derricks are in position and drilling will begin in a few days. The Unis outfit is experienced in prospecting and expresses great confidence in striking flowing wells in this area.

Special train of capitalists visits Casper for rail development

A party led by A. J. Parker of the Colorado and Southern railroad arrived in Casper Tuesday. Members included Verner Reed of Reed Investment, O. H. Shoup of Midwest Oil, C. Laforgusa and Marcus Campiegne of Paris, H. B. Johnston C&S freight chief, John A. Porter of Denver, Hipklackmer formerly of International Trust, now with Reed Company, CO. A. Fisher and R. Brooks of Franco Metroleum. They toured Salt Creek by auto on an inspection trip and left for the east yesterday morning.

Street Car Franchise Possible After Power Plant bid

Union Temperance Meeting Report with Rev. N A Lee

Rev N A Lee state superintendent of the Anti Saloon League spoke at Casper Baptist church and led a union meeting later at Odd Fellows hall. The talk focused on League activities across the state and drew attending members from multiple churches.

Damaging Storm Hits Shoshoni With Lightning Fires

A fierce rain storm with lightning struck Shoshoni on Tuesday causing major damage. T B Prill’s house one mile from town was struck and burned to the ground. Mr and Mrs Prill and their little son escaped unharmed. A house owned by W C Mharved in town caught fire and was partly burned. The Harned family, recently moved to Casper, lost much of their furnishings but had insurance. A washout four miles east of Shoshoni delayed the eastbound passenger train by about two hours.

Armory Construction Bid Winner Heads to New Castle

Chas Galusta of this city won the bid to construct a large Armory building at New Castle and will soon depart to supervise the project.

Boy Breaks Arm After Fall at Public Playground

John Meehiling son of Mr and Mrs Meehiling sustained a fracture of the right arm below the elbow after a fall from a trainee on the public playground at the corner of Second Avenue and Walcott Street. Th M C Reith was called and set the fracture.

Casper Red Men Honored At Lander Council Meeting

The seventh Great Council of the Iroquois Red Men held at Lander last week honored Casper visitors Dr. H R Lathrop and Lonla K Schmidt with Great Sachem and Great Chief of Records titles. Officers elected included Dr. Lathrop and Louis K Schmidt, with other posts filled by Casper and Lander members. A new incorporation, The Seaver Mendemon Land and Cattle, was recorded in Lander with capital of $500,000.
