Wyoming Progressives Meet in Cheyenne State Convention
Delegates from across Wyoming gathered in Cheyenne on Saturday the 27th to elect delegates to the National Progressive convention in Chicago and to organize the state Progressive party. Governor J M Carey was named chairman and Sheridan Downey secretary with a three member committee for permanent organization and a separate resolutions committee. Three delegates and three alternates were chosen for Chicago, and a working state committee was formed led by I N Gottleib. The platform denounces taft era politics, supports tariff reform for fair prices, urges labor protection with competition, and calls for state control of key industries while pledging loyalty to progressive candidates including Carey for governor and opposing the Republican convention.

First Shipment of Oil From the Douglas Well
The first real shipment of lubricating oil from the Douglas of Held was sent to W. J. Leep in Anselmo Nebraska for use in farm machinery. The oil sold for 64 per barrel in the fields and buyer bears all transportation costs. Northwestern Asbestos Company Expands Freighting Teams
The Northwestern Asbestos Company adds freighting equipment for transporting asbestos to the railroad. Superintendent Brille reports the mill operates satisfactorily with strong profits. Lad Drowned at Lander In North Fork Creek
Cameron Hays aged 17 son of Mr and Mrs Parks Taya of Casper drowned while boating with his brother and a friend in North Fork Creek near Lander. He stepped into a deep hole and could not be rescued. body recovered by a party and taken to Takamash Nebraska for burial.
